Student Interest In Visiting Borobudur Temple Is High, Weekend Reaches 9000 People Per Day

JAKARTA - Student interest in visiting Borobudur Temple in Magelang Regency, Central Java, is relatively high during the school holidays, said Marketing & Sales Vice President of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko (PT TWC) Pujo Suwarno.

Pujo who is also the Temporary Deputy General Manager of the Borobudur & Manohara Unit in Magelang, Sunday, said that around 5,000-7,000 people visit Borobudur Temple per day and on weekends it can reach 7,000-9,000 people per day.

"During this school holiday, many groups of students visit Borobudur," said Pujo.

According to him, visits from school children from morning, afternoon, to evening, are quite crowded, even though it is raining they are still enthusiastic about visiting Borobudur Temple.

He conveyed that the group of students was not only from Central Java, but also from West Java and East Java, even some of them were from outside Java.

Pujo said that during the COVID-19 pandemic, his party continued to implement strict health protocols for visitors. Visitors must use the PeduliLindung application to enter.

During this pandemic, he said, the area for tourist visits was still limited to the temple grounds.

The entrance ticket to Borobudur Temple Tourism Park is IDR 50,000 for adult/general Indonesian tourists, IDR 25,000 for children/students for domestic tourists, IDR 25 for adult/general foreign tourist tickets, and 15 USD for children/students for foreign tourists.
