Ustaz In Southeast Aceh Stabbed During The Prophet's Birthday Lecture

MEULABOH - An ustaz named Muhammad Zaid Maulana (37) is still undergoing medical treatment at a hospital in Kutacane, Aceh Tenggara District, Aceh. Ustaz Zaid was stabbed by a man while speaking at the Al Husna Mosque, Kandang Mbelang Mandiri Village, Lawe Bulan District, Thursday, October 29.

The victim suffered a wound on the hand due to the attack by the perpetrator using a sharp weapon.

"The victim of persecution who caused serious injuries is still being treated in hospital, but we have managed to secure the perpetrator to be questioned," said Southeast Aceh Police Chief, AKBP Wanito Eko Sulistyo, quoted by Antara, Friday, October 30.

The perpetrator of the ustaz attack with the initials MA (37), a resident of Kandang Mbelang Mandiri Village, was known to have entered the mosque through a window and attempted to abuse the victim who was lecturing in front of the congregation.

However, when attacked by the perpetrator, the victim avoided. But the victim suffered a wound on his left hand because of the sharp weapon used by the perpetrator.

"We managed to arrest the MA perpetrators on Thursday night at around 22.45 WIB or about one hour after the persecution incident occurred," said the Police Chief.

The police are still intensively examining the perpetrator. Meanwhile, ustaz victim Muhammad Zaid Maulana is still undergoing treatment at the hospital.
