Stealing Money From Sales, Leader Of Bakpia Tugu Jogja Outlet Store Arrested By Police, Perpetrators Involved In Borrowing Debt

YOGYAKARTA - The Jetis Police Criminal Investigation Unit Team, Yogyakarta, revealed a case of embezzlement of Rp15 million. The leader of the Bakpia outlet store leader is entangled in online loan debt (pinjol).

Head of Public Relations of Yogyakarta Police AKP Timbul Sasana Raharjo said the police arrested a woman who worked as a store leader at a bakpia outlet in Yogyakarta.

"The perpetrator with the initials WFA is a resident of Kedungombo Candirejo, Borobudur, Magelang, Central Java. Officers have secured him at a health center in the Gedongtengen area of Yogyakarta City," said AKP Timbul, quoted from a written statement by the Yogyakarta Police, Friday, June 24.

The perpetrator was arrested by the police after receiving a report from another employee who complained that the perpetrator was suspected of having embezzled Rp. 15,412,000 at a bakpia outlet.

He explained that on May 31, the reporter checked the financial results of the sale of the Bakpia Tugu outlet from May 27 to May 30 for a total of Rp 102,570,000.

"However, what was deposited by the suspect as a store leader to a third party was IDR 73,285,000, so there was still a difference of IDR 29,285,300. Then the money that was still kept in the outlet safe was IDR 13,873,300, so that the outlet suffered a loss of IDR 15,412,000," explained AKP Arises.

After being investigated, the suspect admitted that he had taken the money when the outlet closed. The money taken is tucked into the sleeves of a long shirt so that the surveillance cameras / CCTV are not visible.

After receiving the report, the Jetis Yogyakarta Police Criminal Investigation Unit immediately conducted an investigation. The perpetrator was arrested.

The perpetrator admitted that he was desperate to embezzle the outlet's money because of economic needs and he was in debt on online loans.

"The perpetrator was snared as referred to in Article 374 of the Criminal Code regarding Embezzlement in Position," concluded Timbul.
