JAKARTA - The Director General of Population and Civil Registration of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Zudan Arif Fakhrulloh, views that the change of dozens of street names into the names of Betawi figures by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan is normal.

The government, said Zudan, has also made such changes several times. This includes the expansion of villages, regencies/cities, to provinces.

"Regional changes are commonplace, such as the expansion of districts, expansion of provinces. Changes in regional administration on a large scale that we have recently carried out are the division of the East Kalimantan province with the Kaltara province. There are so many," Zudan told reporters on Friday, June 24.

Zudan admits that changing street names will definitely have implications for changes in population administration data. Therefore, Zudan asked residents who live at the changed address to update their population data.

"This all has implications, the upstream is regional administration, so changes in regional data will result in changes to population administration data and public services. For example, in DKI Jakarta, if there is a change in street name, we make a new family card, make a new ID card, identity card new children are made," he said.

However, Zudan also asked Dukcapil Sub-dept. officers to pick up the ball and visit the RT and RW to print resident documents with new data for free. If the community does not meet the officers, they can go directly to the Dukcapil Sub-dept. to be given new documents.

"People don't need to bring an RT/RW introduction. Just come to the Dukcapil. Tell them, 'Sir, I used to have the address here', then an e-KTP will be printed with the new address. him," said Zudan.
