Holywings Reported To Polda Metro Jaya After Free Alcohol Promo For Muhammad-Maria

JAKARTA - Holywings Indonesia has officially been reported for alleged blasphemy to the Polda Metro Jaya. The report was the aftermath of the promotion of giving free alcoholic beverages to those named Muhammad and Maria.

This report was made by a person named Feriyawansyah with his attorney Sunan Kalijaga on Friday, June 24, early in the morning.

"I have reported the alleged blasphemy which we suspect was carried out by one of the cafe management which is currently going viral on social media and media," said Sunan Kalijaga, quoted by VOI from the Instagram account @sunankalijaga_sh, Friday, June 24.

The decision to report the cafe management was because the promotions made were deemed harassing Muslims and Christians. Because, the promotion carried the names of Muhammad and Maria.

"We really think that this promo is clearly displayed to hurt the hearts of Muslims and Christians," he said.

The report has also been received by the Jata Metro Police. The report is registered with LP/B/3135/VI/2022/SPKT/Polda Metro Jaya, dated June 24, 2022.

Thus, the management of Holywings Indonesia is suspected of violating Article 156 A of the Criminal Code and Article 28 A paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 45 Paragraph 2 of the ITE Law.

Separately, the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan confirmed the report on Holywings Indonesia. The report has been received and the file will be investigated soon.

"Yes, the report has been received," said Zulpan.

For information, Holywings Indonesia issued a promotion of giving free alcoholic beverages to owners of the names Muhammad and Maria. The promotion is valid every Thursday with the condition that you bring an identity card.
