PTPP Successfully Inaugurated Several Major Projects In Indonesia In 2020

JAKARTA - The state-owned construction company, PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) has successfully completed and inaugurated several infrastructure projects in the country in 2020. The company is often appointed by the government to build strategic projects.

The major projects that have been completed and inaugurated in 2020 include the New Yogyakarta International Airport (Kulonprogo Airport) in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province, the Manado-Bitung Toll Road for the Manado-Danowudu section in North Sulawesi Province, Jetty IV Port of Merak -Bakauheni in Banten Province and Lampung Province, Kendari Bay Bridge in Southeast Sulawesi Province, and Papua Bangkit Stadium (Lukas Enembe Stadium) in Papua Province.

PTPP Corporate Secretary, Yuyus Juarsa said that the infrastructure projects that have been built and inaugurated by his party have very high social and economic impacts for the Indonesian people.

The social and economic impacts arising from the development of infrastructure projects include leveling development, creating new jobs, and helping to equalize economic growth in Indonesia.

"In addition, it is also able to improve connectivity and accessibility between regions in Indonesia, encourage the growth of new industrial estates and settlements, support the growth of tourism in Indonesia, and there are many other positive benefits," said Yuyus in a written statement received by VOI, Thursday, October 29.

New Yogyakarta International Airport, located in Kulonprogo, Yogyakarta, is one of PTPP's best works. The project, which has a contract value of Rp.6.98 trillion, has succeeded in completing the airport's airside very quickly in just eight months.

Meanwhile, to achieve the airport's minimum operation, PTPP can complete it within 12 months. This airport project is carried out with the best results or quality that is beneficial to stakeholders. The President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo conducted the inauguration of the Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) on Friday, August 28, 2020.

The next project that PTPP inaugurated this year is the Manado-Bitung Toll Road. This is the first toll road owned by North Sulawesi Province which is located in North Minahasa Regency, Manado City. This toll road construction project has a contract value of IDR 3.16 trillion for section II works.

In the future, the Manado-Bitung Toll Road will have a total line of 40 kilometers, which is the longest toll road currently in North Sulawesi Province. The project was successfully completed by PTPP on time and was inaugurated virtually by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo on Tuesday, September 29, 2020.

Then, there is the Jetty IV Merak-Bakauheni Ferry Port project which was successfully completed on time and inaugurated directly by Budi Setiyadi as Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation on Monday, October 12 2020.

Jetty IV Merak has a capacity of 6,000-10,000 GRT with the Breasting Dolphin pier type and a pier length of 120 meters. Meanwhile, Demaga IV Bakauheni has a capacity of 6,000-10,000 GRT with a Quay Wall pier type and a pier length of 150 meters. With the operation of the Merak-Bakauheni IV port port, it is hoped that it can accommodate the flow of Christmas and New Year.

And recently, PTPP inaugurated the Kendari Bay Bridge, located in Southeast Sulawesi Province. This bridge, which has a building length of 1,348 meters in total, was inaugurated directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo which was symbolically marked by a procession of keystrokes and signing of the inscription on Thursday 22 October.

The presence of the Kendari Bay Bridge in Southeast Sulawesi Province has a positive impact on the development of Kendari City and the surrounding community, especially to increase connectivity and accessibility of interactions between regions.

In addition, the presence of the bridge also supports the development of the Kendari New Port Industrial Area and supports the acceleration of marine tourism so as to increase the economic growth of the local community. With the construction of the bridge connecting the bay, it is hoped that it can become a new icon (landmark) in Southeast Sulawesi Province.

Most recently, is the inauguration of the Papua Bangkit Stadium (Lukas Enembe Stadium) located in Harapan Village, East Sentani District, Jayapura Regency, Papua. This stadium was built to welcome the implementation of PON XX Papua which will take place for the first time on the easternmost island of Indonesia.

This stadium has a capacity of 40,000 spectators where all the stadium facilities are of international standard. Funding for the construction of this stadium is funded by the Papua Province APBD worth IDR 1.3 trillion.

This stadium is claimed to be the second best and grandest stadium in Indonesia after the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, located in the capital city of Jakarta. With the presence of the Lukas Enembe Stadium in Papua Province, it is hoped that it can accelerate infrastructure development in the Province and become a separate icon (landmark) for the Indonesian people, especially the Papuan people. The stadium was inaugurated by the Governor of Papua Petahana Lukas Enembe on Friday, 23 October 2020.
