Anies Confirms JIS Grand Launching In July

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan emphasized that the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) will be launched in July 2022.

"The JIS grand launching is a series of peaks for Jakarta's celebration, the Jakarta Anniversary, so there will be many events and one of them will be the launch. We will do the grand launching later, maybe around July 2022," Anies said, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 23.

Although he did not mention the exact date for the launch of the new stadium, Anies said that at the launch, which marked the first opening of the facility, the public was allowed to attend.

"(The community) will be able to come there later," said Anies.

Previously, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government held a Jakarta celebration to celebrate the 495th Anniversary of DKI Jakarta which fell on Wednesday (22/6).

The Jakarta Celebration will be closed on the night of the peak of the 495th anniversary of DKI Jakarta which is also the inauguration of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) on Saturday (25/6).

However, the DKI Jakarta BUMD, PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) postponed the inauguration of the inaugural Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) which was originally on Saturday (25/6) to July 2022.

"Hopefully in July," said Jakpro President Director Widi Amanasto at the DKI DPRD building.

However, Widi did not explain the reason for the cancellation of the inaugural inauguration of JIS which was scheduled at the peak of DKI Jakarta's 495th Anniversary on Saturday (25/6).

He also did not give an exact date for the inauguration of JIS, but only mentioned around July.
