Long Holiday End Of October, Traffic Flow In Jakarta Looks Lonely

JAKARTA - The traffic atmosphere at several points in DKI Jakarta was observed to be deserted on the second day of the long long weekend to commemorate the Prophet Muhammad's birthday, Thursday, October 29.

Based on the @TMCPoldaMetro twitter account, traffic is observed to be quiet at a number of points that are usually busy on weekdays.

For example, in Traffic Light Harmoni, which is often filled with vehicles, but on this day the traffic was observed smoothly and there were no traffic congestion.

Furthermore, in Pancoran Traffic Light which is also busy on weekdays with vehicles, today it looks deserted with smooth traffic.

Apart from Pancoran, there is also quiet traffic on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat close to the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue and the Bank Indonesia Roundabout.

Not only in Medan Merdeka Barat, quiet traffic is also observed in the MH Thamrin area, precisely at the HI Roundabout.

Even though the traffic was quiet on the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad SAW's birthday, the police remained on guard and carried out Operation Zebra Jaya 2020.

Police from the Traffic Units of each city area appear to be distributing masks for private vehicle drivers such as at Enggano Traffic Light, North Jakarta.

As is well known, the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya has prepared 2,999 personnel to secure traffic flow during the long holiday of the Prophet Muhammad SAW's birthday.

"Polda Metro Jaya for this long holiday, there are 2,999 personnel including 749 traffic police officers, which we will place at 16 security posts on toll roads, arterial roads and tourist attractions," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Sambodo Purnomo Yogo at the Regional Police Headquarters.
