JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI) Asfinawati again stated that there were allegations of embezzling actions against the Omnibus Law by criminalizing the field coordinators (Korlap) of the masses in a number of areas.

"Friends from various cities have reported that from Surabaya, Balikpapan, Samarinda, Jember, friends have been arrested, the corpses of the action have been criminalized," said Asfinawati in her speech at the Grand Forum for an Oath of the People held in the Proclamation Monument area, Jakarta. , Wednesday, October 28.

He said that these arrests were made before the Korlap and the protesters joined the demonstration. Thus, Asfinawati questioned the government's attitude. "Is that a democratic government," he said.

Furthermore, he said that young people who participated in this demonstration were better and able to lead than those currently in government.

In addition, Asfinawati assessed that the arrests of the protesters were suspected because they voiced civil disobedience.

He said that the commemoration of Youth Pledge Day which falls on Wednesday, October 28 is actually evidence of civil disobedience. Because tens of years ago, Indonesian youth also fought colonialism. "So the youth oath is a day of civil disobedience," he said.

"Indonesia will not exist without the people and without civilian development. Therefore, as our friends say, we will never die," he added.

It is known, in last week's labor demonstration which was held in the area of the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue, Central Jakarta, Asfinawati had also touched on the same thing, namely the movement against the Omnibus Law on Cipta Kerja Law.

At that time, he said, many workers were unable to participate in the demonstration because they were forced to overturn their vehicles on the way.

Regarding the current condition in the Proclamation Monument area, Jakarta, at 19.00 WIB, the people's pulpit action is still ongoing. A number of masses still gathered to participate in the action.

It is planned that this action will end at 19.00 WIB or later than the specified time, which is 18.00 WIB.
