Gerindra: Today's Position Prabowo Capres And Cak Imin Cawapres, In The Future We Don't Know

JAKARTA - Deputy General Chairperson of Gerindra Desmond J Mahesa, stated that his party had no problem with the opportunity to form a coalition with the PDIP. Although currently Gerindra is exploring cooperation with PKB. "If PDIP wants to be close to Gerindra and PKB, that's okay. If we get close to PDIP, there's no problem. It's called building political power," Desmond told reporters, Wednesday, June 22.

However, Desmond continued, it has now been agreed that the position of General Chairperson of Gerindra Prabowo Subianto is a presidential candidate. Meanwhile, the vice-presidential candidate is the General Chairperson of the PKB Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin.

"Today's position is Prabowo's president, Cak Imin's deputy. In the future we don't know," he said.

"It was agreed that Gerindra and PKB agreed to carry out a coalition in order to carry the presidential candidate. For that we will just wait," continued Desmond.

However, the Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR said that the political situation was still very fluid, so the two parties were still making compromises.

"I don't think it's dynamic, but when it comes to political decisions, usually the leaders who come forward are just compromises," Desmond said. Regarding the name of the Prabowo-Cak Imin pair that will be offered to PDIP, Desmond was reluctant to comment. According to him, the discussion is the domain of the general chairman.

"That will be discussed later, the level of discussion is not my territory," he concluded.
