PKS Opens Doors For All Presidential Candidates, Including Prabowo Subianto

JAKARTA - The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) has yet to reveal the names of the presidential candidates to be carried in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. Even though they have pocketed a number of names as a result of the National Meeting which is closed today, Tuesday, June 21.

PKS Secretary General Aboe Bakar Alhabsyi only made sure that his party opened up opportunities for anyone with the potential to run as a presidential candidate.

"All the existing candidates are included in the PKS, so don't worry about the people of the nation that you have convinced A, B, and C are there," Aboe said at a press conference at Grand Sahid Jaya, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 21.

In fact, the name of Gerindra General Chair Prabowo Subianto was included in the presidential candidate exchange offered by the internal party. Moreover, said Aboe, the defense minister has experience in government and also has good relations with PKS.

"Especially with Prabowo, we know that Prabowo already has flying experience, just keep going, there are no obstacles," said Aboe.

However, Aboe emphasized that currently the decision on the nomination of presidential candidates is in the hands of the party's shura assembly.

The PKS DPP management, he said, only collected a number of candidate names and approached coalition partners and figures.

"It's just that this decision is not within our jurisdiction, except for the members of the shura assembly. We are the ones who prepare the kitchen, prepare the spices, who are the people at the same time, those of us who are already working, who approached the shura assembly as soon as we entered, just entered. "explained Abo.

"What is clear is that no one has been eliminated from all the candidates in this republic, only the level, the higher the grade, the lower grade, we will see," he added.
