JAKARTA - The National Mandate Party (PAN) hopes that the last reshuffle carried out by President Joko Widodo in the middle of June can boost the cabinet's performance, especially in the economic sector.

This was said by the Deputy of PAN Viva Yoga Mauladi in response to the declining level of public satisfaction with the performance of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Vice President (Wapres) Ma'ruf Amin based on the Kompas Research and Development survey.

Viva assessed that the change of leadership at the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of ATR/BPN could be an entry point to maintain and stabilize the domestic economy. This is because, said Viva, the survey results strengthen the assumption and the fact that public satisfaction with the government is largely determined by economic factors and employment opportunities.

"So it is hoped that the government's economic team can work optimally, be able to regulate, maintain, and stabilize prices of food and basic foodstuffs, and can stimulate the industrial and manufacturing sectors to open up opportunities to accommodate jobs," said Viva to reporters, Tuesday, 21 June.

According to Viva, when economic turmoil occurs, especially regarding price increases and the availability of food stocks decreases, it has a significant effect on public satisfaction with the government. Moreover, he continued, the country's economy is also affected by transition factors from the COVID-19 pandemic and global conditions. Therefore, said Viva, economic stability is considered to have a strong relationship with political stability.

"The transition period of the Indonesian economy after the COVID-19 pandemic is not only influenced by domestic factors, but also by the global economy and the economic impact of the Russia-Ukraine war," said Viva. together. "If we are united that the issue of improving the national economy is the main agenda of the nation, it will certainly have a trickle down effect on political stability, creating conducive business fields, and strengthening national integration," he said. the period of June 2022 found a decrease in the number of public satisfaction on the performance of the government of Joko Widodo and Ma'ruf Amin.
