SULTENG - Learning of liquefaction alarm props at the high school (SMA) and tertiary levels in Central Sulawesi (Sulteng) will begin in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year.

"It is planned that learning will begin in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year," said the student supervisor of the physics education study program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University, Sahrul Saehana in Palu, Monday, June 20.

According to Sahrul, the liquefaction alarm teaching aid can be used in geography learning in high school. This tool can explain the phenomenon of earthquakes accompanied by liquefaction.

While in higher education learning will be taught in several relevant subjects such as basic natural sciences, environmental studies as well as earth and space physics.

In classroom learning this tool can be used directly so that students or students can observe these two phenomena.

"This learning can also be observed through existing videos or shows," he said, as quoted by Antara.

Sahrul said the intellectual rights of the design and invention of this tool were protected by law because it had been registered through the Intellectual Property Center of Tadulako University to the Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights on December 30, 2020 as a simple patent.

"The proposal is in the process of examining the substance at the Directorate General of Intellectual Property. It is hoped that the application for invention numbered S00202010788 can be granted so that the inventor or investor can obtain a simple patent certificate," he explained.

Sahrul said, liquefaction alarm props are considered important for learning in schools and universities because they are expected to be a learning medium for students and students regarding the process of earthquakes, how to deal with and mitigate when an event occurs.

This is done so that the impact and victims of natural disasters can be reduced if the event is repeated in the future.

"Students will be explained how to make it, education for making this tool will be carried out so that they are skilled at producing advanced innovations or improvements and giving birth to other innovations," said Sharul.
