SERANG - The Banten Police's Ditreskrimsus managed to arrest and make Romeo Guiterez's Facebook account admin a suspect for hate speech. In this case, the admin with the initials RM (44) insulted the Banten Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) on social media.

Head of Sub-Directorate V of Cyber Ditreskrimsus Banten Police Kompol Wendy Andrianto explained that the suspect admitted that he was hurt and offended while doing the Koran on the sidewalk.

"The suspect's motivation was the presence of the MUI Fatwa, the suspect felt hurt and offended because the suspect had once conducted recitations on the sidewalk," said Wendy, via text message, Monday, June 20.

Meanwhile, the Head of Banten Regional Police Humas Kombes Pol Shinto Silitonga explained that RM through Romeo Guiterez's Facebook account made three times of hate speech to the Banten MUI, namely Saturday, April 23 at 17.38 WIB, Monday April 25 at 15.00 WIB, and Tuesday, April 26 at 13:45. WIB.

“He was arrested on Wednesday, June 8 and named a suspect the next day, Thursday, June 9. The perpetrators discredited the Banten MUI," explained Shinto.

Furthermore, investigators have conducted a series of examinations of four witnesses, especially from the MUI and three experts, both linguists, ITE experts and legal experts. From a series of examinations of witnesses and experts, investigators have also confiscated several pieces of evidence.

"From a series of examinations, investigators secured a variety of evidence, namely screenshots of Facebook posts, a black Vivo HP unit complete with a simcard, and a Samsung cellphone complete with a simcard," Shinto explained.

Shinto continued, the perpetrator was a resident of Cikeusal, Serang Regency. RM will be charged with multiple articles, Article 45A of Law Number 19 of 2016 and Article 157 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 6 years in prison.
