Coordinating Minister AHY Asks For Traffic Management To Be Prepared To Welcome Nataru Holidays

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) revealed that the traffic management (traffic) for Christmas-New Year 2024/2025 needs to be really prepared.

"We hope that traffic management will really be prepared ahead of Christmas-New Year. This means that we can predict the days ahead, human mobility, including goods, will increase because it enters the Christmas-New Year holiday season," AHY quoted Antara as saying.

He emphasized the importance of Jasa Marga Toll Road Operator (JMTO) role in ensuring the comfort and security of toll road users.

According to him, safety is a top priority that cannot be negotiated. Coordinating Minister AHY emphasized that absolute safety issues should not be prioritized.

Therefore, he appealed to all people who will travel on Christmas-New Year's Day to be careful while driving.

"We have a duty to regulate traffic, use technology, use CCTV at thousands of integrated points with each other. Including AI, we can find out locations that are already overcapacity," said AHY.

AHY also appreciated the application of a 10 percent discount to toll road users during Christmas-New Year on the Jakarta-Semarang route and vice versa.

Discounts are valid from the direction of Jakarta-Semarang on 19-20 December 2024 to 05.00 WIB. Then, from the direction of Semarang-Jakarta valid on 28-29 December 2024 and 3-4 January 2025 to 05.00 WIB. This discount is valid when tapping out on the Cikampek Utama toll road and the Kalikangkung toll road.

"So, this is what we have to convince and of course everyone must work as well as possible. Earlier there was also a discount, there was a 10 percent discount, there were 3 days given a discount on December 19, December 28 and January 3 (2025)," said Coordinating Minister AHY.

For information, the Coordinating Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (Menko AHY) reviewed the readiness of a number of parties in facing the 2024/2025 Christmas and New Year transportation period.

On this occasion, Coordinating Minister AHY visited Jasa Marga Tollroad Command Center (JMTC) managed by Jasa Marga Toll Road Operator (JMTO) in Jatiasih, Bekasi, West Java, Friday (20/12).
