Not 'Two Legs' Politics, PKB Calls Exploration Of Coalition With Gerindra PKS On The Basis Of Mutual Need

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the PKB, Jazilul Fawaid, denied that his party had 'two-legged' politics because it built two coalition axes, namely the Red Ant Coalition with PKS and the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition with Gerindra.

According to Jazilul, PKB has opened communication with any political party because it knows that every party needs coalition partners.

"These meetings are actually based on mutual need, so where to initiate and not initiate. PKB has also been like that all along because it knows that other parties need it or else it will be single, right? Except for PDIP because there are enough seats, maybe they need it, maybe no," said Jazilul at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, June 20.

"But if the 10 are like PKB, you don't need anything else, you are single. It means the same, PKB is like that. That's why PKB initiates, opens communication with all of them," he continued.

Jazilul emphasized that until now PKB is still communicating with PKS and Gerindra. Although, he said, the discussion with Gerindra was a little more advanced than PKS because it had already discussed the figure of the presidential-vice presidential candidate.

"The Red Ants are still running, it (the Great Indonesia Awakening Coalition) is still running, it doesn't stop. Everything is in the early stages of the agreement, but with Gerindra, the term is more advanced when it comes to who the partner is," he said.

However, Jazilul denied that the Red Ant Coalition which was built with PKS had made no progress. However, he said, PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar had not specifically discussed the agreement with PKS President, Ahmad Syaikhu.

"It's not that no progress has been made, there are still many considerations, why? Yes, we respect the sovereignty of each party, right. It's different when Gerindra meets the general chairman (with) the general chairman," he explained.

Regarding the meeting of three parties, namely PKB, PKS and Gerindra, Jazilul asked all parties to wait for future developments.

"What will be the technical later, but as long as both of them still don't have a curved yellow leaf, it means that everything is still open to options," he concluded.
