JAKARTA - The accumulation of passengers that occurred at Manggarai Station and viral on social media Instagram, also complained of a number of users of mass transportation of electric rail trains (KRL) or the Jabodetabek commuter line.

The buildup is the impact of the switch over policy or changes in the Jabodetabek KRL trip pattern at Manggarai Station.

Many passengers complained about the policy of changing train travel patterns so that there was often a buildup of passengers at Manggarai Station.

The passengers also complained about the facilities and services of PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI).

According to MF Ridwan (27) a KRL user from Cibinong, Bogor, he always takes the KRL train from Cibinong to Jakarta and always transits at Manggarai Station. Then ride by changing trains towards Tanah Abang. He got off at Sudirman Station.

"It's even worse when it's working hours, whether it's in the morning or evening, it's very busy. Yes, it's very busy during working hours. Still, you can't unravel the accumulation of passengers (at Manggarai Station)," said a technician in one of the five-star hotels in the Jakarta area. to VOI, Friday, June 17.

According to Ridwan, the buildup occurred due to changes in the train route.

"Previously, from Bogor there was a destination to Kota and Tanah Abang, passengers boarded according to their destination. So there was no accumulation at (station) Manggarai, as well as those from Bekasi," he said.

Ridwan hopes that PT KCI will not drop all KRL from Bogor at Kota Station. "Then automatically all passengers going to Sudirman - Tanah Abang will get off at (station) Manggarai for transit. Likewise for Bekasi, don't drop all of them at Tanah Abang or Kampung Bandan, all of them will transit at (station) Manggarai, passengers from Bogor and Bekasi will pile up at (station) Manggarai," said Ridwan.

Another complaint was also made by Deny, a worker in the media industry based in the West Jakarta area. The man, a resident of Depok, complained about the change in the pattern of train travel so that there was often a buildup at the transit station.

"It's getting more complicated, especially KRL passengers from Bogor to Sudirman, Tanah Abang, Duri because they often change trains. Not to mention the large accumulation of passengers at transit stations, especially during rush hours, it's bad," complained Deny.

Deny also asked PT KCI to increase the number of stairs or routes for passengers to enter and exit at each transit station to reduce passenger density.

Responding to this polemic, Transportation Policy Analyst, Azas Tigor Nainggolan argued, the accumulation of passengers that occurred was the impact of changes in travel routes made by the PT KCI commuter train some time ago.

"This happened because of the route change that was made the other day. This must be well prepared, so as not to harm KRL users. If something like this happens, it is already detrimental to KRL users," said Azas to VOI.

Azas added that if there is any damage or problem, PT KCI must immediately make repairs.

"If there is damage or there is a problem in the service facilities, as a public service manager in accordance with the law, it must be done immediately, lest it harm KRL users and neglect their users," he said.

Previously, the accumulation of thousands of commuter line train passengers occurred at Manggarai Station on Thursday, June 16, afternoon. This phenomenon was also recorded by an amateur video of one of the Commuter Line train users who showed the drama of train passengers crammed into Manggarai Station waiting for the queue to use the escalator.
