Police Arrest Three Members Of A Motorcycle Gang From Sawah Besar Who Stabbed Gambir Residents

JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) together with the Gambir Metro Police have arrested three members of a motorcycle gang who attacked residents of Kingkit, Jalan Pintu Air II, Kebon Kelapa Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta, Saturday, June 4.

As a result of the attack, a resident with the initials RM suffered a knife wound.

The three suspects arrested by the joint team are known to have the initials NJS alias Cola, M alias Ekel, PATP alias Agoy. The three suspects are motorcycle gangs from the Sawah Besar sub-district.

Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Reskrim) of the Central Jakarta Metro Police AKBP Gunarto said that the suspects received challenges from social media. This is known from the digital footprints of the group of suspects on social media. So from the digital footprint, the team conducted a search and arrested the suspects.

"The Central Jakarta Police have created a team for cyber patrols to detect these things. So we can reveal the perpetrators from it (social media)," said AKBP Gunarto to VOI, Thursday, June 16.

According to Kasat, the incident at the crime scene (TKP) happened very quickly. Footage from CCTV is also limited, so investigations were carried out using cyber patrols on social media.

"We detected the origins of this group, we tracked down the admin (social media) and gave chase. Cyber patrols were detected every day, until all three were arrested," he explained.

The incident occurred when the victim RM and his friends at the crime scene were playing with their cellphones. Suddenly, a mob of 20 motorcycle gangs arrived. One of the suspects immediately got off the motorbike and slashed the victim's back with a sickle that was running at the back.

The victim was taken to Tarakan Hospital, Central Jakarta due to a laceration to the back. The victim's parents then reported the incident to the Gambir Police Headquarters.

After examining witnesses and evidence, the three suspects from the motorcycle gang were arrested. The confiscated evidence was a sickle, cellphone and others.

"The three suspects are members of a motorcycle gang called Poyok 09 JR. They always live on Instagram and go to motorbike convoys," he said.

As a result of their actions, suspects M alias Ekel and PATP alias Aylgoy were charged with Article 55 in conjunction with 351 of the Criminal Code. Meanwhile, the suspect with the initials NJS alias Cola was charged with Article 351 (2) of the Criminal Code.
