KPK Again Names Suspect Related To Alleged Bribery Application For National Economic Recovery Fund

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is developing a case of alleged bribery of the national economic recovery fund (PEN). As a result, they again named a new suspect.

Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, confirmed that the determination of the suspect was in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. They have pocketed two pieces of evidence.

"Based on the adequacy of at least two pieces of evidence, it is suspected that other parties, both as givers and recipients, were involved in the alleged bribery case," said Ali in a written statement, Wednesday, June 15.

The KPK has not yet detailed the suspects in this case nor has they described their actions. Ali said his agency would announce the suspects in the case when forced arrests and detentions were made.

Even so, he ensured that every activity in handling the alleged bribery of PEN would be submitted to the public. The public is asked to participate in supervising the process.

"We will always inform the public about the progress of each case handling activity," said Ali. "KPK hopes for community support to participate in overseeing the process of handling this case," he concluded.
