Together With His Subordinates, Karupam Smuggles Methamphetamine Into South Kalimantan Rantau Rutan, 'Service' Money Is Divided By Two

BANJARMASIN - The head of the security team (Karupam) at the Rantau Rutan, South Kalimantan, has been named a suspect for being involved in drug smuggling for inmates in prison.

"It's true, he has become a suspect, initials R," said Tapin Police Narcotics Head AKP Tatang when confirmed, Antara, Wednesday, June 15.

With the stipulation of R as a suspect, there are two officers involved in the Rantau Rutan. Previously, M was named a suspect, his position as a member of the security team, was none other than R's subordinates.

From the results of the investigation, said Tatang, R gave permission to M to smuggle crystal methamphetamine ordered from an inmate into the prison.

"The proceeds of the money and goods (shabu-shabu) are divided into two," he said.

Both of them are currently in the detention center of the Tapin Police Station awaiting legal proceedings.

He made sure that no more Rantau Rutan officers were involved. Likewise with the inmates, currently three suspects have been named.

So, the total number of suspects in drug cases in Rantau Rutan is now five people. Everything will be processed in accordance with applicable legal provisions.

Last Monday, June 14, at the Rantau Rutan in Tapin Regency, the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kanwil Kemenkumham) South Kalimantan, Lilik Sujandi, gave strict action against M, namely temporary dismissal.

Lilik said the officer, after completing the court process and found guilty, would be dismissed permanently.

Head of the Rantau Rutan Andi Hasyim said R would experience the same thing as M, namely a temporary dismissal as Karupam.

"Of course, it will be processed according to the law. We have been consistent from the start, when we find and investigate, we immediately hand it over to the police. There is no mercy for drugs," he said.

The evil conspiracy was revealed, starting on Wednesday (8/6) when members of the Rantau Rutan carried out incidental raids. As a result, 13 packages of methamphetamine, a suction device and a glass pipette were found in the prison.

The recipient of the smuggled methamphetamine was MB, a prisoner who is strongly suspected of circulating in prison.

From an internal examination at the Rantau Rutan, the methamphetamine has escaped twice, and it is strongly suspected that it had circulated in prison.
