Tanjungpinang Hajj Candidate Cancels Departing To The Holy Land Due To Pregnancy

BATAM - The Head of the Embarkation Hajj Organizing Officer (PPIH) Hang Nadim Batam Mahbub said a pilgrim candidate for Hajj (JCH) in the first batch of Tanjungpinang failed to leave because he was pregnant.

"Hajj candidates who fail to leave this year will be included in the priority list the following year while waiting for a policy from the Saudi Arabian government," Mahbub said after the release of JCH group one at the Batam Hajj Dormitory, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, June 15.

According to Mahbub, the pilgrimage is quite risky, especially when in Arafah Musdalifah and Mina, all in the open. Maybe physical considerations, the health side doesn't allow it and the Saudi authorities also don't allow it, because it's feared that something will happen, such as a miscarriage," Mahbub said.

Regarding the waiting period for the departure of the Hajj pilgrimage in Riau Islands, Mahbub said it would be between 10 and 12 years, but this could change based on the conditions of each district/city.

"The waiting period queue in Riau Islands is more than 10 years and will change based on the city and province," said Mahbub.

Meanwhile, the Riau Islands governor Ansar Ahmad asked for prayer to the regional JCH for the welfare of the Indonesian people, especially the Riau Islands Province so that every regional head in each district/city could be given instructions and mandates in carrying out their duties.

"For Riau Islands, we ask for prayers so that the leaders are given good instructions so they can maintain their mandate and carry out their duties properly," said Ansar Ahmad.

Ansar personally gave pocket money to each JCH Kepri amounting to Rp100 thousand. "I personally entrusted Rp100 thousand for the congregation. Hopefully it can be used just to drink tea or coffee while on the trip," said Ansar.

The Riau Islands JCH who departed today also received provisions in the form of snacks for Riau Islands SMEs.
