YOGYAKARTA - The police have named Expo Productions as the organizer of a music concert that ended in chaos at the Lippo Plaza Mall Yogyakarta on Sunday (12/6) night, as a suspect.

The head of the Gondokusuman Police, Kompol Surahman, said that based on the results of the investigation, the concert organizer, which resulted in a number of injuries, did not apply for a permit for the event to be held.

"Because of the negligence of the organizers because without official permission from the police," he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 14.

Surahman said concert organizers should still apply for a crowd permit even though the event is a regular event.

According to him, the Notification Receipt Letter (STTP) which the organizers claim is given every month is not sufficient to represent the permit for concert activities attended by large audiences.

"Gathering masses of more than 500-1000 at least go to the police. Except for activities such as demonstrations, STTP is enough," said Surahman.

Due to the chaos that resulted in injuries, according to him, the police charged the organizers with Article 510 of the Criminal Code concerning holding public gatherings without permission.

"We have delegated it to the court. We have imposed a tiping (minor crime)," he said.

In addition to naming the suspect, according to Surahman, the police are currently investigating the existence of a number of provocateurs suspected of triggering the clashes between spectators.

According to him, the clashes caused damage to a number of mall facilities and eight people were rushed to the emergency room at Siloam Hospital because they suffered minor injuries.

"In the meantime, we are investigating whether there were provocateurs or not, because so far there has been no report from the victim," he said.
