Three Residents Including A Baby Falls Into The River From Jalan Bolong At Cimandiri Sukabumi Suspension Bridge

SUKABUMI - Three residents, one of whom was a baby, fell from the Cimandiri suspension bridge which is being repaired and fell into the Cimandiri River, Palabuhanratu, Sukabumi Regency, West Java.

"The three victims have been rescued and are currently under intensive care at the Palabuhanratu Hospital, while the Honda Beat motorbike they were riding has not been found because it sank in the Cimandiri River," said Head of Law Enforcement Unit (Gakum) of the Sukabumi Police Traffic Unit, Ipda Yanuar Fajar, as quoted by Antara, Monday, June 13th.

According to information gathered from the police, the three victims were identified as Dilfa (22) a resident of Bbadakputih Village, Palabuhanratu Sub-district, who was a motorbike driver. Then Seftia Febrianti (20), a resident of Mariuk Village, Cidadap Village, Simpenan District, Sukabumi Regency and one baby Delfan who is Seftia's child.

This accident started when the motorbike that the three victims were riding on drove from Bagbagan, Palabuhanratu District to Simpenan District and crossed the Cimandiri Bridge, the driver lost concentration so the motorbike headed to the right side of the road.

Where to the right of the bridge there is a large gaping hole so that the three of them fell off the bridge and plunged into the Cimandiri River. Incidentally, at the time of the incident, the main road connecting Palabuhanratu with Simpenan was busy with residents, so the people quickly helped them and were rushed to the Palabuhanratu Hospital.

According to Yanuar, the large hole in the bridge is due to being repaired, but from the results of the investigation of the crime scene around the hole, the project holder did not provide signs and barriers. so prone to similar accidents.

"We appeal to motorists crossing the bridge to be careful because if they don't concentrate, they can get into an accident, especially on the left and right side of the road is the Cimandiri River. We also ask bridge repair workers to install signs and barriers on the bridge, especially at night. in a location with minimal lighting," he said.
