Reportedly Will Get One Seat Of Minister And Deputy Minister, Secretary General Of PAN: Sovereignty In The Hands Of The President

JAKARTA - Secretary General of PAN Eddy Soeparno admitted that he heard the news of the cabinet reshuffle on June 15. However, he said, he only found out about the news because it was crowded in the media and there had been no official notification within the party.

According to Eddy, the matter of adding or replacing ministers in the cabinet is the prerogative of President Joko Widodo.

"Full sovereignty to carry out the reshuffle is in the hands of the president, so that in this case we are the party who certainly respects this prerogative," said Eddy at the DPR building, Senayan, Monday, June 13.

Eddy emphasized that from the beginning he joined PAN he was committed to supporting the Jokowi-Ma'ruf government until his term of office was completed in 2024.

Regarding the rumors that said PAN would get ministerial and deputy ministerial seats, Eddy assessed that this right was the authority of the president. If PAN is trusted to get a position in the cabinet, he said, the names that deserve to be filled are the authority of General Chair Zulkifli Hasan.

"Again, in the government the prerogative to place anyone in the cabinet is the authority of the president, in PAN the right to place cadres later in the executive or anywhere else is in the hands of the chairman, Bang Zulhas in this case," he explained.

Previously, the PAN Expert Council Drajad Wibowo said that Jokowi would reshuffle the political elite.

"There is now speculation that big names will be dismissed from the cabinet which might create a domino effect on national politics," said Drajad, Sunday, June 12.

He also said that PAN would get one minister and a deputy minister from the speculation of a reshuffle.

"The name of the chairman of the PAN PAN Bang Zul is also often said to be re-entering the cabinet," he said.
