BENGKULU - The National and Political Unity Agency (Kesbangpol) of Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province, is currently monitoring the presence of followers of the Khilafatul Muslimin organization in the area.

"Currently we are monitoring the presence of Muslim Khilafatul followers in the Rejang Lebong Regency area, although as an organization we make sure they are not registered with the Rejang Lebong Kesbangpol," said Head of the Rejang Lebong Kesbangpol Agency, Maxpinal, when contacted at Rejang Lebong, Antara, Sunday. He explained that the Khilafatul Muslimin organization, whose existence has been banned by the government, is individually difficult to detect, so monitoring must be carried out in 15 sub-districts in Rejang Lebong.

His party will help the security forces find out whether there are residents of Rejang Lebong Regency who are followers of the organization led by Abdul Qadir Hasan Baraja.

The existence of this organization is prohibited by the government because it is suspected of having a caliphate ideology related to the terrorist movement.

He appealed to the people of Rejang Lebong to supervise foreigners who entered their respective villages or sub-districts, if their presence was suspicious to immediately report them to local government officials or security officers.

So far, based on the data they have, the number of community organizations registered with Kesbangpol Rejang Lebong has reached 150 organizations, whether in the form of NGOs, social organizations, community organizations and others.

Of the 150 organizations registered with Kesbangpol Rejang Lebong, it was later discovered that there were 60 that were no longer active.
