SURABAYA - Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council of the East Java Indonesian Advocates Congress (DPD KAI), Abdul Malik reported the Mayor of Surabaya Tri Rismaharini to Bawaslu, DKPP to the Ministry of Home Affairs. KAI suspected that Risma had violated the election regulations.

"Risma's online campaign event on October 18 clearly violated PKPU and a number of other rules. He ordered residents to vote for Eri Cahyadi and demonize other candidate pairs, and all of that had no permission," said Malik, in Surabaya, Saturday, October 24.

Malik also questioned the explanation of the Head of BPB Linmas of the Surabaya City Government, Irvan Widyanto, who said that Risma had obtained permission from the Governor of East Java to conduct a campaign. Because based on information obtained by Malik, Risma's campaign permit is only for November 10, not October 18.

"In the online campaign, Risma also lied to call Eri her son. I am a legal practitioner, Eri was not born Risma. Risma has lied to the public," he said.

According to Malik, Risma committed a violation. Therefore, Malik requested KAI's report to be followed up.

"I also asked the prosecutor's office and the police to use their instruments to investigate the use of the Regional Budget for an inappropriate purpose," he explained.

For Malik, Risma's actions openly campaigning for the mayor-deputy mayor candidate Eri Cahyadi-Armudji are considered to have left a bad impression on the Surabaya City Government.

"If you want to be free from campaigning, it's better for Risma to resign. Hand over the position of mayor to the deputy of Whisnu Sakti Buana," he said.
