JAYAPURA - Papua Bangkit Stadium has changed its name and has become the Lukas Enembe Stadium. The existence of the Lukas Enembe Stadium is said to be a new icon for community sports facilities in Papua.

This moment also marks the inauguration of Papua as the host of the XX National Sports Week in 2021. Inaugurated by the Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe, this stadium can get 42,000 spectators.

"I hope that after the Lukas Enembe Stadium will become a witness to a new history in the world of Indonesian sports because Papua can become the organizer of the XX Papua 2021 PON," said Governor Lukas Enembe at the inauguration of the stadium in Harapan Sentani Village, Jayapura Regency, as reported by Antara, Saturday, October 24. .

The Lukas Enembe Stadium was built in accordance with international standards meeting the regulations of the International Football Federation (FIFA) with a stadium area of 71,697 square meters on a 13 hectare land.

The construction of this stadium has been carried out from 2016 to 2020 and has spent a budget of IDR 1.3 trillion originating from the special autonomy fund and the APBN to the Papua Province APBD.

The physical building of the stadium was built in four fiscal year periods starting from 2016 amounting to IDR 228.6 billion, 2017 IDR 447.2 billion, 2018 IDR 879.3 billion and in 2019 it has also budgeted IDR 2.2 trillion.

Meanwhile, in the 2020 APBD, the budget for the implementation of the 2021 PON has been prepared for IDR 2 trillion. At least, there are four sports arenas that have been built, namely the Papua istora rising, the athletic arena, the cricket arena, and the hockey field both inside and outside the stadium.

He hopes that all elements of society in the land of Papua will work together with the local government, central government, KONI and the PON Papua committee in the success of the XX Papua PON 2021 sports party.

Through the Lukas Enembe stadium facility, which was inaugurated, Governor Lukas Enembe continued, Papuans can prove to people throughout Indonesia that Papua can become the host of the XX Papua PON 2021 organizer.

"Let us unite to support the government, KONI and PB PON as the organizer of PON Papua 2021 by producing many achievements for athletes from Papua," he hoped.
