MEDAN - The Sunggal Police have named their uncle and aunt as suspects in the persecution of KR, a 4 year old boy who went viral on social media.
Sunggal Police Chief, Kompol Yasir Ahmadi, said the persecution took place at his residence in the Asri Indah housing complex, Sei Mencirim Village, Sunggal Subdistrict, Deliserdang, Thursday, October 22.
"Starting from the public report, where the TKP saw the condition of this child, came out of the house thirsty, asked his neighbors to drink," said Yasir to reporters, Friday, October 23.
Residents who saw the bruises on the boy's body took the initiative to make a report to the police. The police immediately moved to the location.
"We saw the house and the child's condition, we saw signs of violence. The child's condition was very weak, then we evacuated to the Puskesmas. Arriving at the Puskesmas, he was referred to Bhayangkara Hospital," he said.
Furthermore, that very night the police arrested the victim's uncle and aunt. From there, it was discovered that the victim was living with the two suspects.
"(The victim) was entrusted with the suspect, because the parents of the child's biological child were in a detention center because of being involved in a narcotics crime case," said Yasir.
When interrogated, the two suspects admitted to mistreating them. The persecution was carried out for a month.
"(The motive) is the child's fault, repeated over and over again. We (have) named them as suspects," he said.
The two suspects were threatened with crimes under Law No. 23/2004 on the Elimination of Domestic Violence and Law No. 35/2014 on Amendments to Law No. 23/2002 on Child Protection.
"The threat is five years in prison," said Yasir
Meanwhile, JS victim's aunt during the interview admitted that KR has been living together for three months. However, the persecution act had only been carried out in the past month.
Violence was carried out, because the poor boy often defecated openly.
"For two months we continued to teach us to defecate in the bathroom, at first he knew. But it just repeated like that," said JS.
