JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno welcomed the implementation of the Agrarian Reform Task Force (GTRA) program which was first opened in Wakatobi, Southeast Sulawesi.
"Today I am here in Wakatobi to attend the 2022 GTRA Summit at Patuno Resort Wakatobi. This is part of the revival of tourism and the economy," said Sandiaga in his official statement, Friday, June 10.
According to Sandiaga, GTRA is very important for people in remote and remote areas that have not been reached by the government's land certification program.
"How can tourism be of higher quality, sustainable, and of course I remember Hernando Desoto's visit to Jakarta a few years ago. Where if this land problem is certified, suddenly the opportunity to get out of absolute poverty, especially for people on the coast, can be found," he said.
Furthermore, Sandiaga expressed his gratitude because the GTRA program is part of creating opportunities for the welfare of the community and revitalizing the economy.
"Last year, Wakatobi topped with Lia Togo Tourism Village. We noted that based on data collected by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, visits to tourist villages increased by 30 percent in the midst of the pandemic," he said.
Related to this, Sandiaga sees that there are aspects of a shift in tourism that personalize, customize, localize, smaller in size has occurred. Nature-based tourism and local cultural wisdom, said Sandiaga Uno, are the main attractions for the tourism sector in Indonesia.
"Today, I am in Bau-Bau, there is the tourist village of Limololio, where what is being sold is history. The history of Indonesian democracy also began coincidentally in Bau-Bau City. We will pack it up and make a travel plan, and we will see here resurrection," continued Sandiaga.
Moreover, Sandiaga even saw that one indicator of the revival of the tourism sector after the COVID-19 pandemic subsided, namely occupancy in hotels, especially on weekends and long weekends, which tend to be full.
"I spoke with the Regent, all the hotels here are full, so I can't find a place here, so the homestay is also full, the Lia Togo Tourism Village is also full, so this brings optimism for our economic revival," he said.
