Rewarding Coordinating Minister Luhut's Steps To Postpone Ticket Increase To The Stupa Of Borobudur Temple Wise

SEMARANG - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo assessed that the decision of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan to delay the increase in ticket prices to go up to the stupa area at Borobudur Temple was a wise move.

"Essentially, when Mr. Luhut came home, he said to me, 'OK, Mr. Ganjar, let's postpone this so that the TWC and the hall will discuss it first, I think that's wise," said Ganjar on the sidelines of a working visit to Kudus Regency, Antara, Thursday, June 9 .

Ganjar revealed that the discourse had not been implemented because the government was still in long discussions with PT Taman Wisata Candi (TWC) and the Borobudur Conservation Center (BKB).

According to Ganjar, the discourse on increasing ticket prices to the stupa area of Borobudur Temple which was conveyed to the public was a form of government transparency.

"So the actual concept is not yet, but because maybe we are just transparent, so we don't expect that the response will be like that," he said.

Apart from the pros and cons of increasing ticket prices to the stupa area of Borobudur Temple, Ganjar believes that there are positive lessons that can be taken because many community groups feel they have a voice.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan revealed that the planned implementation of the Borobudur Temple ticket price increase was postponed for one year pending an evaluation related to the management of Borobudur Temple which is currently being carried out.

Nevertheless, Luhut emphasized that the proposed increase in ticket prices to the stupa area of Borobudur Temple had passed studies, including comparisons with other countries.
