JAKARTA - The waste problem in DKI Jakarta has not been resolved properly. For this reason, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government continues to intensify waste management campaigns.

One of them is through the Jakarta Waste Awareness Movement Week (PGJSS) throughout DKI Jakarta from Monday, June 20 to June 25, next.

DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan invites DKI Jakarta residents to support the 2022 Jakarta Waste Awareness Movement Week (PGJSS) next week.

Governor Anies asked the entire community to play an active role in sorting and transporting scheduled waste.

"This movement activates the function of the waste management sector in each RW, so that later waste reduction will be realized from the source by involving 2,743 RWs throughout Jakarta," said Anies Baswedan, Thursday, June 9.

Later, the public is asked to support the implementation of waste sorting and transportation, which are all scheduled for a week in DKI Jakarta.

"Hopefully the PGJSS movement will make us more responsible and able to create solutions in managing the environment for the better. Come on, residents of Jakarta, let's take responsibility for protecting the environment in our respective areas," he said.

As is known, the Jakarta Waste Awareness Movement Week (PGJSS) is a household waste management activity that is carried out simultaneously and colossally. This activity is to welcome the 2022 Jakarta Celebration.

"This movement will activate the function of the Waste Management Sector (BPS) for all RWs in Jakarta, so that waste reduction will be realized from the source," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency, Asep Kuswanto, Wednesday, June 8, yesterday.

Later, this activity will be followed by 2,743 RW throughout Jakarta. The implementation of PGJSS, continued Agus, to support the implementation of Ingub Number 49 of 2021 regarding the Settlement of Regional Priority Issues for 2021-2022 related to the issue of solid waste.

One of them is the implementation of scheduled waste transportation in 50 percent of the RW or 1,369 RW.

Asep explained, PGJSS will be implemented by simulating the pattern of waste management according to Pergub Number 77 of 2020 concerning Waste Management in RW Scope.

"It is hoped that this pattern of waste management will become more internalized and become a good habit. In the end, it will become a new culture for Jakarta residents in sorting and reducing waste from sources," he said.

Asep added that the DKI Jakarta Environmental Service had provided PGJSS campaign kits in the form of 3,000 activity banners for each RW, 15,000 work instruction posters for each RT, and 3,000 Jakarta Waste Awareness Vests for each BPS RW head in the area. Jakarta.

"Meanwhile, each City/Regency Environmental Sub-Department has provided cleaning tools to support the performance of the RW Waste Management Sector. All these facilities will be distributed before PGJSS is held," he said.
