Harun Masiku Cannot Be Found, KPK Evaluates The Task Force Team

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said it had evaluated the task force team (task force) responsible for finding the whereabouts of DPO suspect Harun Masiku.

Former PDIP Candidate Harun Masiku is a fugitive in a bribery case related to the management of interim replacement (PAW) for members of the 2019-2024 DPR RI. Harun has been a DPO since January 2020.

"Yes, what is clear is being evaluated, especially the task force that is responsible," said KPK Deputy for Enforcement Karyoto at the KPK Building, Jakarta, Thursday, October 22.

He asked that the task force to find Harun Masiku be like the team that hunted former Secretary of the Supreme Court (MA) Nurhadi. For two months in the field looking for Nurhadi's whereabouts.

"Like Nurhadi's task force, it's been almost 2 months out of one or two teams when there is information in Surabaya, fled to Surabaya, yesterday was in Jakarta. His name is he is a fugitive always" moving "and grateful we can catch Nurhadi in such a short time too, "said Karyoto.

Apart from Harun, said Karyoto, the KPK is still trying to find the whereabouts of other DPOs.

It is known, even though Harun Masiku escaped since the hand-arrest operation (OTT) in January, a number of people caught in bribery cases related to the Inter-Time Change (PAW) of the DPR RI for the 2019-2024 period have been prosecuted. One of them is Wahyu Setiawan.

The defendant who received the bribe was sentenced to 6 years in prison and a fine of IDR 150 million, a subsidiary of 4 months in prison. The judge declared Wahyu Setiawan guilty and convincingly accepting bribes together regarding the management of the Inter-Time Replacement (PAW) process for DPR members from the PDI-P Faction, Harun Masiku.

Then, the judge also sentenced former member of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), Agustiani Tio Fridelina to four years in prison and a fine of Rp150 million, a subsidiary of four months in prison. He is also a defendant in the same case.

Previously, KPK Deputy Chairman Nawawi Pomolango said he would add personnel to look for fugitives for former PDIP candidate Harun Masiku. This was done so that the search for Harun as the giver of the former KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan produced results.

"It is possible to add more personnel to the task force or to include a companion task force," said KPK Deputy Chairman Nawawi Pomolango when contacted by reporters, Monday, August 24.

In addition, said Nawawi, the KPK also continues to conduct internal evaluations and coordinate with other law enforcement agencies regarding the progress of the search for Harun Masiku. "We are also trying to continue to coordinate with the National Police, which has determined DPO status for the suspect," he said.

Meanwhile, KPK Deputy Chairman Alexander Marwata emphasized that Harun Masiku's arrest is a matter of time. This optimism emerged because in the process of finding and arresting Harun, the KPK was assisted by the National Police.

"So it is not only the KPK that is chasing it but the National Police also helps the KPK to arrest the person concerned. It's just a matter of time," said Alex some time ago, adding that he believed Harun was still in Indonesia and said he had not asked Interpol to issue a red notice.

In addition, he also emphasized that anyone who tries to hide Harun can be subject to Article 21 or obstruct the investigation.

"If the suspect is protected or not, I do not know. If someone is protecting and the person concerned (Harun Masiku, red) is caught and he says so far who is helping hide, it can be subject to Article 21, obstructing the investigation process," he said. .
