Explosive Findings Of TNT Explosives And Firearms In Empty Buildings In Bandung, Police Investigate Owners

JAKARTA - The National Police said they would investigate the findings of explosives and firearms in an empty building located on Jalan Asia Afrika, Bandung City, West Java. Exploration to find out whether there is involvement of terrorist groups or other parties.

"The West Java Police Team, coordinating Densus 88 and the Criminal Investigation Unit, will investigate first whether the explosives were found and then the rifles," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo to reporters, Tuesday, June 7.

However, the results of the investigation so far there is no information regarding the owner of the explosives and firearms

Dedi emphasized that if later the results of the investigation found indications of the involvement of certain parties, they would immediately be followed up. Including apprehending the perpetrators who are strongly suspected of being involved.

"If further investigation is carried out, of course, it will be developed and other suspects related to the problem will be sought," said Dedi.

Objects suspected of being explosives and a firearm complete with a number of bullets were found in a building located on Jalan Asia Afrika, Bandung City.

Bandung Police Chief Kombes Aswin Sipayung said a number of dangerous items were found during the renovation of a building. Once found, residents reported it to the police.

"It was reported to us at 20.30 WIB at night. It was found by people who were going to renovate the house, they were going to clean it, it turned out that these (explosives and weapons, ed) were found," said Aswin.

Aswin said the items found were trinitrotoluene (TNT) or melted explosives. In addition, there is also one firearm, which according to him is still being investigated.

"Then a number of live ammunition and firearms. We haven't counted it but it's quite a lot, the details haven't been counted," said Aswin
