11-year-old Child Commits Suicide After The Man Who Raped Her Is Released

JAKARTA - Annaliesse Ugle died tragically on October 20. This 11-year-old girl committed suicide after her alleged rapist was parole.

Annaliesse is alleged to have been repeatedly sexually abused by the 66-year-old from the age of five, from 2014 to 2020.

The perpetrator is charged with six counts of indecent dealing with a child and five counts of sexually abusing a child, and is scheduled to face trial again in December.

The suspect was given bail by the police and then by the court six days later.

Meanwhile, Annaliesse was rushed to Perth Children's Hospital in Australia on October 19 after attempting suicide. He was pronounced dead on October 20.

Annaliesse's mother has given 7NEWS permission to publish the name of the victim's photo, and the court has also authorized her identity.

"(This incident) tore my heart. I can't bring my daughter back, "the mother told 7NEWS.

He added: “She is very beautiful. He got people attracted to him. "

Police said the suspect was someone the family knew.

The Assistant Regional Commissioner for the Police of West Australia, Jo McCabe, told reporters: "For someone so young to commit suicide is unacceptable and tragic, and many questions need to be answered."

Annaliesse's mother said her daughter felt scared and ashamed after the perpetrator was released.

"He (the perpetrator) walked freely, while my girl sat back and worried all the time, whether she would come to him."

Police say there are indications that the perpetrator violated the terms of his bail, and officers are investigating.
