It Turns Out That The Lost Accident Victim In Kalimalang Is A Hoax, The Perpetrator Arranges A Scenario To Disburse Life Insurance Due To Debt Of IDR 3 Billion

JAKARTA - Central Cikarang Police Chief AKP Awang Parikesit confirmed that the person who was reported missing drowned in the Kalimalang River with the initials WS alias Wahyu (35) turned out to be a hoax.

The perpetrators of WS apparently only engineered a hit-and-run (Laka Lalu) which resulted in the disappearance being plunged into the Kalimalang River, Kalimalang Inspection Street, Tegaldanas, RT 02/02, Hegarmukti Village, Central Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency.

"The WS actor engineered the incident with the intention of obtaining a life or death insurance claim," said AKP Awang in a written statement received by VOI in Jakarta, Monday, June 6.

The police chief explained that the incident started on Saturday, June 4 at around 04.30 WIB. A man with the initials DS alias D came to the Central Cikarang Police who reported that there had been a traffic accident between a motorbike and a car.

In his report, the victim was two people riding a motorbike. One person was injured and another was reported missing and was not found after entering the Kalimalang irrigation.

At around 04.40 WIB, officers checked the crime scene (TKP). Arriving at the TKP, officers found a motorbike already in the Kalimalang irrigation. Meanwhile, someone was groaning in pain at the edge of the Kalimalang irrigation.

When police questioned the injured man, he admitted to being the victim of a hit-and-run. The victim was then taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Then the Central Cikarang Police reported to the Bekasi Metro Police Traffic Unit.

After an investigation was carried out by the Bekasi Metro Police Satlantas unit, officers found many irregularities in the accident case. Added to this is the disappearance of one person in the Kalimalang irrigation channel who has never been found.

Then the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Cikarang Police, Iptu Dimas, conducted an examination of a number of witnesses.

"From the testimony of the initial witness AM alias M, colleague WS alias W, said that the hit-and-run traffic accident did not exist or never happened and was only engineered," said Iptu Dimas.

The perpetrators of DS alias D, ARI alias A, AM alias M, TS alias T and WS alias W had planned this a month earlier in the Bogor area.

Before the incident was reported to the Central Cikarang Police, the perpetrators began to commit the crime of fabricating the incident on Saturday, June 4, at around 00.30 WIB.

They departed from the city of Bekasi walking hand in hand using 2 motorbikes and 1 car that had been prepared.

At 02.00 WIB the perpetrators arrived in the Teluk Jambe area, Karawang. They damaged the motorcycle in the back by using stones. After that, the perpetrators returned to Bekasi via the Kalimalang route.

"About 2 kilometers before the TKP, WS alias W got off the motorbike and moved into the prepared car. When at the TKP, WS alias W gave the code to AM alias M to drop the motorbike into the Kalimalang irrigation," said Kanit.

Then ARI alias A and DS alias D pretended to help. Then DS alias D reported the incident to the Central Cikarang Police.

WS alias W planned the engineering with the intention of getting a life or death insurance claim.

"Based on the testimony of witnesses, WS did it because he was in debt of Rp. 3 billion rupiah. They hoped that if the insurance claim was obtained they would pay off the debt," he said.

For further processing, a number of evidences and the perpetrators involved in the fabrication of the case were brought to the Central Cikarang Police.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Jakarta SAR Office as the SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) in SAR operations, Hendra Sudirman, ensured that from the search efforts of the joint SAR team since Saturday, June 4, there are no signs of drowning in the Kalimalang River.

"Yes, no (people drowned)," he briefly told VOI, Monday, June 6.

Previously, it was reported that Wahyu (28), a resident of Sukabumi, was reported missing and drowned in the Kalimalang River, Central Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency, West Java, Saturday, June 4, yesterday. The joint SAR team is still continuing to search for drowning victims without any results.
