JAKARTA - A video showing the face of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan in a Hot Wheels brand toy car has gone viral on TikTok.

The TikTok account with the name @puterabanten363 who uploaded the video says this toy is an original product from Hot Wheels.

"That's cool, good Ben Anies. The toy company Hot Wheels is displaying a photo of Mas Anies as a cover for the toy it produces," said the account @puterabanten363 quoted on Monday, June 6.

When confirmed, VP Communication Organizing Committee for Formula E Jakarta, Iman Sjafei, confirmed that the organizing committee and Formula E Operation (FEO) did not have a joint venture in merchandise procurement with the Hot Wheels company.

"There is no such merchandise. If the official merchandise is from FEO, it is definitely impossible. For merchandise, only FEO is issued, the designs from FEO are only t-shirts, hats, and tote bags," said Iman when contacted, Monday, June 6.

Thus, Iman emphasized that if the Hot Wheels toy packaging featuring Anies's photo was circulating in the market, it was not an official merchandise from the Jakarta Formula E organizer.

Moreover, in the promotion cooperation mechanism with Formula E, each company must carry out a black and white process and pay a specified fee.

"If they, Hot Wheels, want to issue official merchandise called Formula E, it is certain that there will be discussions with the FEO and the local committee with them having to pay," he said.

For information, Formula E Jakarta was held on Saturday, June 4 at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circiut (JIEC), Ancol, North Jakarta. The electric car racing event was also attended by President Joko Widodo, state officials, and other political figures.
