The Husband Who Snared His Wife's Neck With A Cable Until She Died Is Still Being Chased By Police

JAKARTA - The Rejang Lebong Resort Police, Bengkulu, is currently still hunting for the husband who allegedly killed his wife in Binduriang District, Rejang Lebong Regency, last June 3.

Rejang Lebong Police Chief Grand Commissioner Adjutant Tonny Kurniawan through Head of Public Relations, 1st Insp Bertha Anggraini, said the victim was Amelina Efriyanti (32), a resident of Kampung Jeruk Village, Binduriang District, Rejang Lebong Regency.

"The suspected culprit is her own husband with the initials K (33). At this time the suspected perpetrator fled. Officers in the field are still looking for the perpetrator," he said.

The incident occurred on Friday, June 3, at around 18.30 western Indonesia time at the victim's house in Kampung Jeruk Village, Binduriang District.

Based on the statement of the victim's parents, Robain (63), he heard screams from inside the victim's house. Then he went to the victim's house and found that his daughter was already lying on the floor.

The reported, who is the victim's husband, was sitting near the victim while crying. After that, the witness asked local residents to take the victim to Lubuklinggau DKT Hospital, South Sumatra.

The victim when he arrived at the Lubuklinggau DKT Hospital was found to be dead. There were marks of violence on her neck in the form of snares. After that, the victim was taken back to the funeral home in Kampung Jeruk Village, Binduriang District.

The victim's body was immediately buried by the family the next day, while the victim's husband after the incident was not yet known because when the victim was taken to the hospital he immediately fled.

The Padang Ulak Tanding Police (PUT) officer who received the incident report went straight to the victim's house to examine the victim and witnesses, secure evidence, and conduct an investigation into the alleged perpetrator.

From the crime scene (TKP), officers secured evidence in the form of an electric cable suspected of being a tool to ensnare the victim, then a hammer, and a sheet of the victim's clothes.
