JAKARTA - The Port Business Entity (BUP) PT Karya Citra Nusantara (KCN) supports sustainable nature conservation in the Marunda Port area, Cilincing, North Jakarta as part of realizing the green port movement.

Furthermore, at PT KCN Marunda Port on Jalan Jayapura number 1 KBN Cilincing, North Jakarta on Friday, the planting of mangrove seedlings is a continuation of the Phase II program in the Mangrove Forest which is located in the KCN Public Terminal area of pier 2 and pier 3 with a length of 1,100 meters.

President Director of PT Karya Citra Nusantara Widodo Setiadi said that the sustainable nature conservation efforts had previously carried out the planting of Mangrove seedlings for 600 meters long on the southern perimeter of the PT KCN public terminal in 2017.

"This is our effort to realize an environmentally friendly port or also called a 'green port'," said Widodo.

The second phase of mangrove planting of the Rhizopora mucronata species which will take place in early June 2022 will be followed by phase III planting in the Marunda KCN Port area and has been adjusted to the design contained in the Port Master Plan (RIP).

The mangrove planting event as part of realizing a 'green port' was attended by Head of KSOP Class IV Marunda Capt Isa Ansyari, Head of Cilincing Sub-district Muhammad Andri, Lurah Idham Mugabe, and Head of North Jakarta PMI Rizal.

On the same occasion, the President Director of KCN also provided humanitarian assistance in the form of cash amounting to Rp. 139,500,000 to PMI North Jakarta.
