Ministry Of Health Supply Ten Drug Molecules To Increase Domestic Production

CIKARANG - The Ministry of Health supplies the ten largest drug molecules to the pharmaceutical industry in Indonesia as a strategy to increase the raw materials for domestic drug production.

"The Ministry of Health is transforming the health system, one of the pillars of which is the transformation of the health resilience system with an agenda to increase the resilience of the pharmaceutical sector through local production of biopharmaceutical products, vaccines, chemical and natural Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API)," said the Director General of Pharmacy and Equipment. Health Ministry of Health Rizka Andalucia in Cikarang, West Java, reported by Antara, Thursday, June 2.

Of the ten largest molecules, Rizka said, until 2021 there are several medicinal raw materials that can be produced domestically, including Paracetamol produced by PT Riasima, Clopidogrel and Atorvastatin produced by PT Kimia Farma Sungwun Pharmacopeia, and Omeprazole produced by PT Ferron Pharmaceutical.

In addition, there are also domestically produced medicinal raw materials outside the ten molecules, including Erythropoietin produced by PT Daewoong Infion and PT Kalbio Global, Pharmaceutical Salt produced by PT Karya Daya Syafarmasi, as well as Simvastatin, Atorvastatin, Clopidogrel, Efavirenz, Entekavir produced by PT. Kimia Farma Sungwun Pharmacopeia.

In order to increase the use of domestically produced medicinal raw materials, the government provides a Change Source Facility for Drug Raw Materials from imported medicinal raw materials to domestic drug raw materials.

One of the facilitations provided by the Ministry of Health is to facilitate a Bioequivalence test for substitution of Atorvastatin and Clopidogrel Drug Raw Materials in 2022.

There are several industries that will be facilitated, namely PT Dexa Medica, PT Dipa Pharmalab, PT Phapros Tbk, PT Novell Pharmaceutical Laboratories, PT Pertiwi Agung-PT Otto Pharmaceutical, PT Lapi Laboratories, and PT Meprofarm.

Currently, PT Kimia Farma Sungwun Pharmacopeia has completed the construction of a production facility for the domestic production of raw material for povidone lodine. The production facility has been inaugurated by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, through the signing of the inscription.
