Brig Gen E Was Dismissed Until He Retired Due To LGBT Cases

JAKARTA - The National Police's Professional and Security Division (Propam) has imposed a non-job sanction against Brigadier General E. The sanctions were related to the alleged involvement of the Lesbi, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) groups.

"Non-job (no position until retirement)," said Head of Public Relations of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, to reporters, Wednesday, October 21.

Argo said, imposing sanctions on Brigadier General E was not new. Brigjen E was sanctioned after the Propam Division completed its inspection in 2019.

"A year ago (sanctions), it's been a long time," he said.

Previously, Police Public Relations Division Karo Penmas, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, emphasized that his party will take firm action against members who are proven to be involved in lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) groups.

"If this happens, of course the National Police will act decisively," said Awi some time ago.

Strict action against members of the National Police regarding LGBT based on the Chief of Police Regulation Number 14 of 2011 concerning the Polri's Professional Code of Ethics.

In Article 11 letter C, the remedy states that every member of the National Police is obliged to obey and respect the norms of decency, religious norms, values, local wisdom norms and legal norms.

"Because there are already legal regulations for those who violate the code of ethics, of course, is waiting," he said.

The issue of LGBT within the TNI and Polri evaporated after the Chief of the Military Chamber of the Supreme Court (MA) Major General Purnawirawan Burhan Dahlan conveyed about the existence of LGBT groups in the TNI-Polri environment.
