Accusing The West Of Wanting To Change The Constitutional System In Belarus, President Lukashenko: We Are Establishing Mechanisms Of Resistance And Countermeasures

JAKARTA - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said the West was eager to disrupt the people of his country, including changing the country's constitutional system on Tuesday.

"We are actually under pressure from the collective West, Washington and its allies," said President Lukashenko's press service, as reported by TASS May 31.

"Their intentions are well known, to destabilize society, to change the constitutional system and to bring to power those loyal to the West. The level of technology used in the effort to achieve this goal is extremely high," the service continued.

He further warned that foreign pressure in Belarus is growing, so for that reason, resistance must be proportionate. President Lukashenko stressed, "any war, first and foremost, not a hot war but a hybrid war, implies a struggle for people's minds. "

"We have an obligation to protect our people. Most importantly we have to master the skills of counter-propaganda, which we had in the Soviet Union. I don't deny it. We should not find the word 'propaganda' scary at all," President Lukashenko said, adding that the West also engage in propaganda.

"But at the same time, they make fun of us and call us 'propagandists' and 'agitators'. Why are they laughing at us? To mislead us."

"We have to devise a mechanism of resistance and countermeasures," concluded President Lukashenko.
