Alert! It Is Predicted That There Will Be A Spike In ASN Violations In The 2024 Pilkada

JAKARTA - The chairman of the State Civil Apparatus Commission (KASN), Agus Pramusinto, predicts that there will be an increase in neutrality violations committed by ASN in the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada.

"Based on the results of monitoring the implementation of the 2020 Simultaneous Pilkada, it is predicted that the number of violations of ASN neutrality will be higher because all provinces and regencies/cities will participate in the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada," Agus said in his remarks at the signing of the memorandum of understanding between KASN and the Ombudsman, at the Ombudsman Office, Jakarta, Tuesday, May 31, quoted from Antara.

Violations of the neutrality of ASN in the implementation of the democratic party can be prevented through the implementation of socialization and public discussions with the theme of monitoring and strengthening the neutrality of ASN.

Furthermore, he conveyed that KASN had started efforts to prevent violations of ASN neutrality in the 2024 Simultaneous General Election and Regional Head Elections through cooperation with the Ombudsman.

The collaboration was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding between KASN and the Ombudsman on improving the supervision of the implementation of public services as well as the management of ASN based on a merit system.

He said the cooperation had begun to be implemented, one of which was through holding a talk show entitled "Synergy for Supervision of ASN Neutrality" which was held both offline and online today.

"(This speech event) is a form of cooperation between KASN and the Ombudsman in the context of preventing violations of the code of ethics and behavior as well as increasing the neutrality of ASN in the 2024 Simultaneous General Election and Regional Head Elections," he said.

On the same occasion, the Head of the Ombudsman, Mokhammad Najih, said that the aspect of ASN independence is one of the things that always triggers the emergence of various problems in the implementation of elections.

"Experience shows that in organizing elections, the independence aspect of ASN is an agenda that continues to raise problems that cannot be resolved," he said.

Therefore, according to Najih, to maintain the neutrality and independence of ASN in the 2024 Simultaneous General Election and Regional Head Elections, a synergy between the RI Ombudsman, KASN, and even the Election Supervisory Body is needed in order to realize a neutral, free, honest and fair election.
