MKD DPR Has Received Report Of Alleged Persecution Of Benny Harman, Now Trying To Solve It As A Family

JAKARTA - The House of Representatives' Honorary Court (MKD) has received a report against a member of the DPR's Commission III from the Democratic Faction, Benny K Harman, who was involved in the alleged abuse of restaurant employees in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara.

"The MKD has received a report on the alleged violation of the code of ethics against Brother Benny K Harman regarding the incident in NTT," said Deputy Chairperson of the DPR MKD Habiburokhman to reporters, Tuesday, May 31.

The DPR MKD has also received an initial explanation from Benny K Harman about the alleged slapping of a restaurant employee in Labuan Bajo, NTT. Benny, he said, was ready to fulfill the summons of the DPR MKD if further information was needed.

"We have also received an initial explanation from Benny K Harman regarding the incident and he stated that he was ready to attend the MKD if needed," he said.

But before that, continued the member of Commission III of the DPR, the MKD must first check the administrative completeness of the report in accordance with Article 2 of DPR Regulation Number 2 of 2015 concerning Guidelines for Proceedings at the MKD. Habiburokhman explained that the complainant has 14 days to complete the administrative requirements. "After the requirements are complete, the next process will continue, namely the examination of the main case report," he explained.

Even so, Habiburokhman said, the DPR MKD was still trying to solve the problem of alleged abuse by Benny K Harman in a family manner.

"We need to underline that we continue to push for the settlement of this case in a family manner that accommodates the sense of justice of both parties," said Habiburokhman.
