Searched For 7 Days But Couldn't Find It, The Search For The Fisherman Who Was Lost On The Beach Of Sayang Heulang Was Stopped

JAKARTA - The joint SAR team has stopped the search for a fisherman, Agus Bako, who went missing after his boat capsized in the waters of Sayang Heulang Beach, Garut Regency, West Java. After 7 days of searching, Agus Bako could not be found.

"Based on this consideration, the joint SAR team decided that the SAR operation was completed and the SAR operation was suspended," said Head of the Bandung SAR Office Deden Ridwansah in a press release, Tuesday, May 31, quoted from Antara.

He said the joint SAR team had been trying to find Agus Bako, 52, a resident of Pamalayan, Garut Regency, since he was reported missing because his boat capsized at Sayang Heulang Beach, Tuesday, May 24.

The joint SAR team divided into groups have been trying to find victims by walking along the beach and using boats to search the middle of the ocean, but the results have not been found until yesterday afternoon.

Deden conveyed the results of the coordination of the joint SAR Team and the victim's family, so the search was stopped, the victim's family also accepted the decision to stop.

Even though it has been stopped, said Deden, his party will still carry out operations with monitoring if there are signs that point to the whereabouts of the victim.

"The victim's family agrees that the search should be stopped, and will reopen when there are signs of finding the victim," he said.

Previously, the fishing boat Abah Jaya went to sea on Monday (23/5) afternoon with the skipper Ade Jamidin (52), and two crew members, namely Nanan (24) a resident of Pameungpeuk District, and Agus Bako (52) a resident of Cikelet District, Garut.

Unexpectedly those who were catching fish using nets were hit by big waves until the boat capsized, as a result of the incident the captain died, and Agus disappeared, while Nanan survived.

The team involved in the search included the Basarnas of the Tasikmalaya SAR, Koramil Santolo, Polair Santolo, Pangandaran Navy Post, Garut Fire Service, Santolo Health Center, and local fishermen.

Previously, during the Lebaran holiday season, it was reported that a tourist from Sumedang Regency was missing in the waters of Sayang Heulang Beach, then a search was carried out but the victim was not found and the search operation was stopped.
