Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Nana Attends A Mass At The Horse Statue

JAKARTA - The Head of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Inspector General Nana Sudjana, visited the masses of the Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEM SI) and workers who held a demonstration against the Job Creation Law in the Horse Statue area.

VOI's monitoring in the Nana field came at 15.30 WIB, Tuesday, October 20, accompanied by his staff. However, Nana has not provided any information regarding his arrival to meet the protesters.

Before Nana arrived, the demonstrators from the Tugu Tani area began to move to the Horse Statue. They want to join the students in conveying their aspirations, namely asking President Joko Widodo to issue the Perppu on the Job Creation Law.

Unfortunately, President Joko Widodo is currently not at the State Palace in Jakarta. Jokowi is currently at the Bogor Palace.

Jokowi this morning was scheduled to hold a limited meeting on the development of preparations for the 2021 U-20 World Cup online. In addition, he is also scheduled to have a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide.

"Let's go to the Horse Statue, we will give speeches there, we will join the people there," said one of the protesters from the command car.

Currently, the road in Tugu Tani is closed. The police were seen on guard to secure the course of the action.

The police had previously combed people who were not related to the demonstration in anticipation of intruders. The crowd, mostly teenagers, were prevented from entering the demonstration site at the Horse Statue.

At Monas, the police checked the demonstrators' belongings. One by one the students were checked in their bags to avoid dangerous items when voicing their aspirations.

Today's demonstration was escorted by 20 thousand joint TNI / Polri and Jakarta Provincial Government personnel.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said that all 20 thousand personnel were not immediately deployed to the field. Only 10 personnel were deployed.

"We have prepared around 10,587 personnel (who are already in the field) today," Yusri told reporters, Tuesday, October 20.

Meanwhile, the rest will only be lowered if there is an increase in the mass of the action or there is chaos at this time.
