Palangka Raya Mayor No Addition Of COVID-19 Cases For Five Days

PALANGKA RAYA - Mayor of Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan Province, Fairid Naparin, said that during the last five days there had been no additional positive cases of COVID-19, so there are currently only five active cases.

"From Wednesday, May 25 to Sunday, May 29, there were no additional cases and currently there are five residents who are still positive for COVID-19. They are still undergoing treatment," Fairid said in Palangka Raya, Monday 30 May.

He said, from the initial discovery of cases to date, the accumulation of COVID-19 patients in the local city reached 17,758 people. Of that number, 17,203 patients, or 96.87 percent were declared cured.

"Meanwhile, of all positive cases, up to now, 550 patients have died after being exposed to COVID-19," he said, quoted by Antara.

Although the recovery rate is high, the youngest regional head in the Central Kalimantan region still asks the local community not to be careless with the potential and threat of the spread of the coronavirus.

Furthermore, based on data from the Palangka Raya City COVID-19 Handling Task Force on the same day, from the existing 30 urban villages, 26 villages managed to become green zones and four other urban villages were yellow zones for the spread of COVID-19.

The green zone villages are spread over five areas of Pahandut District, two areas of Jekan Raya District, six areas in Sabangau District, six areas in Bukit Batu District, and seven areas in Rakumpit District.

While the four yellow zone villages are spread out in one area in Pahandut District, he is in Jekan Raya District and one area is in Bukit Batu District.

For this reason, Fairid, who is also the Head of the Palangka Raya City COVID-19 Handling Task Force, invites residents who meet the criteria and requirements to complete the vaccination, starting from the first dose to the booster or "booster" dose.

In addition, he also asked the local community to always maintain their health and adopt a healthy lifestyle. Starting from meeting the needs of vitamins and nutrition and diligently exercising as an effort to maintain immunity.

He also asked citizens not to be careless even though the president has allowed the public not to use masks in open spaces.

"If you feel unwell, such as fever or other symptoms, you should not gather together. If you are forced to continue to use a mask as an effort to anticipate the spread of COVID-19," he said.
