After The Roof Of The Audience Stands Collapsed, DPR Members Urge The Construction Of Formula E Facilities To Be Audited

JAKARTA - Member of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) Kamrussamad urged the construction of the Formula E facility in the Ancol area to be audited.

"We are asking for a special audit for the collapsed Formula E stands," he said as quoted by Antara, Sunday.

According to him, the incident could result in an accident and damage the image of DKI Jakarta and Indonesia in the international eyes, especially in the automotive world.

He reminded the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, where the implementation of development is so fast, it must meet the requirements of good governance, financial management, as well as technical specifications and implementation time.

"Don't be in a hurry, the quality will be neglected," he emphasized.

The people's representative from DKI Jakarta confirmed that after the Formula E event, the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) would conduct an inspection at the end of the year.

As of Sunday afternoon, the contractor for the construction of the Ancol Formula E international circuit, Pademangan, North Jakarta has not been seen repairing the roof of one of the spectator stands which collapsed, allegedly due to strong winds and heavy rain last Friday.

The condition of the Formula E international circuit on Sunday, the roof still covered the spectator stands and the metal supporting frame also looked slanted.

Previously, Chairman of the Organizing Committee Ahmad Sahroni confirmed that the roof of the grandstand grandstand collapsed due to the brunt of the wind and rain.

The iron framework supporting the roof of the grandstand was unable to withstand the onslaught of strong winds, causing the roof to collapse onto the stands.

However, he said that there was already a roof repair process being carried out by workers at the site.

"It is in the process of being repaired," said Sahroni, Saturday.
