JAKARTA - The roof of the stands for the Jakarta Formula E circuit in Ancol, North Jakarta, collapsed. What is the response of PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) as the organizer of the electric car racing event in DKI?

President Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo, Widi Amanasto, said he could not speak much about the incident. He asked for time to explain further about the collapse of the roof of the Formula E circuit stands.

"We'll wait for more details. I don't think this is the time, right here (CFD)," Widi told reporters at the HI Roundabout, Jakarta, Sunday, May 29.

Previously, it was reported that the roof of the Jakarta Formula E spectator stands collapsed due to heavy rain and strong winds that hit the Ancol Formula E Jakarta International E-Prix Cricuit (JIEC) circuit on Friday, May 27 evening.

In response to this, the chairman of the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Anggara Wicitra Sastroamidjojo, asked that this incident be a serious concern for the organizers and the organizing committee of the race. Given, the implementation of the race lasts six days, namely June 4, 2022.

"The committee must immediately clean up, the time is very tight, we hope the committee can ensure that on the day of implementation there will be no similar incident because it will sacrifice the safety of the people there," Anggara said in his statement, Sunday, May 29.

Anggara hopes that the committee can prevent similar incidents from happening again. Because, he continued, the construction of the permanent circuit was only completed in three months.

"We have to make sure that everything is ideal for the day of execution from all sides.

"In addition to safety issues, international prestige must be maintained. But of course, even though the activities have been carried out, all of this will have to be accounted for later because considering that there is APBD money that is used to finance its activities," he said.
