Two Couriers Of 92 Kg Of Sabu Sentenced To Death By Judge At Tanjungkarang District Court Bandar Lampung

TANJUNGKARANG - Two defendants who acted as couriers for the circulation of 92 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine were sentenced to death by the Tanjungkarang District Court, Bandar Lampung.

The defendants from East Java were named M Razif Hazif (24) and Nanang Zakaria (29). They were sentenced to death in a trial at the Tanjungkarang District Court with a decision agenda.

"Senting the death penalty to defendants M Razif Hazif and Nanang Zakaria," said Chief Justice Joni Butar Butar, at the Tanjungkarang District Court, Bandar Lampung, quoted from Antara, Friday, May 27.

He continued that the actions of the two defendants were proven guilty of violating 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

The verdict handed down by judge Joni Butar Butar was higher than the demands of the Public Prosecutor (JPU) Rosman Yusa. Previously, Yusa as he is familiarly known, demanded that the two defendants be sentenced to life imprisonment.

Hearing the verdict, the two defendants who underwent an online trial immediately filed an appeal to the panel of judges. "We are filing an appeal, Your Honor," said the defendant.

A colleague of the two suspects named M Sulton will hear the judge's verdict reading on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. During the trial several weeks ago, Public Prosecutor Yusa demanded the death penalty.

The actions of the three defendants began when Defendant M Sulton, who is a fostered resident, received orders to control the circulation of large quantities of methamphetamine by a person with the initials J, who is a DPO.

In February 2021, Sulton ordered Nanang and the perpetrator with the initials S (DPO) to look for a boarding house. Then Nanang and S, were ordered to take methamphetamine at Tanjung Balai. Then packed in the boarding house into four boxes

In the delivery, the defendant Nanang received a salary of Rp. 600 million by the defendant M Sulton.
