Defendant Of Bima Pawnshop Fictitious Credit Sentenced To 25 Months In Prison

MATARAM - The judge sentenced Siti Nurdahlia to 25 months in prison for the defendant of fictitious credit corruption at the Godo Pegadaian Branch Service Unit (UPC), Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara.

Chairperson of the Panel of Judges, Irlina, in the verdict against Siti Nurdahlia at the Mataram Corruption Crime District Court, also charged the defendant with a fine of IDR 50 million, subsidiary of one month in prison.

"Declare that the actions of the defendant Siti Nurdahlia have caused state losses so that the Panel of Judges imposes the burden of paying compensation of Rp. 624.3 million," said Irlina, quoted by Antara, Friday, May 27.

If the compensation for state losses cannot be paid within one month after the decision is final and binding, he continued, the defendant's assets will be confiscated.

"However, if the defendant's assets cannot meet the payment of state compensation money, then it will be replaced with a prison sentence of one year," he said.

The panel of judges handed down such a verdict by stating that Siti Nurdahlia's actions which had caused state losses were proven legally and convincingly to comply with Article 3 of Law No. 20/2001 on Amendments to Law No. 31/1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.

The judge handed down a sentence lower than the prosecutor's demand for three years in prison with the consideration that there was an intention to recover state losses of Rp. 106.46 million from the total findings of the Internal Control System (SPI) of Rp. 730 million.

After delivering the verdict, the chairman of the panel of judges invited the public prosecutor and the defendant to take seven days to make a decision.
